Champion of Reserve Dies: Jean Cryor
Valerie Berton, of MC Park and Planning, sums the loss of Planning Board Member Jean Cryor well when she writes:
I, as well as the entire Park and Planning family, am deeply saddened at the untimely death of Commissioner Jean Cryor. We were richer having her as a colleague who brought her years of experience and wisdom as journalist, political leader, legislator, and all-around selfless public servant to the work of the Planning Board. Jean brought us insight, compassion, humor, and great good judgment to the decisions we make. It was characteristic of her dedication to the public weal that she insisted that her funeral could not be held on Thursday. She was one of Montgomery’s finest citizens, and an enormous loss to all of us who knew and loved her, and to the greater community her work touched.

Montgomery Countryside Alliance extends their sympathy to Jean’s family and co-workers but more – we will join to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of a remarkable public servant and great protector of the environment.
