Reserve’s 30th Anniversary Photo Contest!

Send us your photos that best capture the beauty or function of the Ag Reserve’s roadway trees and hedges. Whether your shots capture habitat for nature, soil erosion control, wind break or sheer beauty – they’ll be judged by a panel of local photographers and the winners will be profiled on the web site. New:Deadline for submissions: September 1, 2010.

Rules:
-photos must be submitted digitally, low resolution for web site - Email to:  info@mocoalliance.org
-provide email address, full name, date/location of photo
-optional:  equipment used to capture image
-photos remain sole property of photographer and will not be used by MCA without permission.
-2 age groups: 16 and under and 17 and up.

Winners:  First and Second place in each category will have photos posted on website slideshow and will be profiled on the site and also receive artist Tina Theime Brown’s beautiful Ag Reserve Map.

Agrarian Urbanism: Lecture by Andrés Duany
Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Beginning with present-day facts and conditions that have led to and challenged the health of developed nations — especially the separation of eaters from food sources — Andrés Duany will talk about the importance of incorporating agriculture into contemporary life and give examples of evolving and in-practice solutions from work he and his firm, Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company, have undertaken in that direction. Accompanied by gorgeous illustrations of food production along the entire Transect, from wild forageable land to window box, Andrés will introduce the theory of Agrarian Urbanism and how he sees it going forward and changing the world.
