We partner with other groups to watchdog development proposals,and organize grassroots on issues impacting the Ag Reserve. In 1998, FARM successfully attained a “Sole Source Aquifer Designation” from the Federal EPA, to better protect out region’s groundwater.

At growingSOUL, we demonstrate and teach the strategies necessary to create a zero-waste food cycle including local food production, preparation, preservation, storage and composting, all fueled by renewable energies.

Historic Medley District

Landscape and Nature Discoveries, Inc. (LAND) provides outdoor educational experiences for children, encouraging them to appreciate, conserve, and respect their natural environment while cultivating connections within the community

Maryland Environmental Trust

MET works to provide landowners with information and tools to permanently protect natural, historic and scenic resources in the state.

As one of the oldest and most successful land trusts in the country, MET holds over 1,000 conservation easements preserving over 125,000 acres statewide. From the Chesapeake Bay to the mountains of Garrett County, our Land Conservation, Monitoring and Stewardship, and Land Trust Assistance Programs promote the protection of open land. MET also provides grants to environmental education projects through the Keep Maryland Beautiful Program.

The Maryland Native Plant Society
The Maryland Native Plant Society’s mission is to promote awareness, appreciation, and conservation of Maryland’s native plants and their habitats. We pursue our mission through education, research, advocacy, and service activities.

Montgomery Victory Gardens
Montgomery Victory Gardens is a new non-profit project devoted to creating a more vigorous, self-reliant and sustainable local food shed here in Montgomery County, Maryland.

National Capital Farms
The website of  the Agriculture Working Group supported by the Washington Metro Council of Governments. This group works to support agriculture within a 150 mile radius of Washington DC. The website includes a farm search tool, agriculture classifieds, and local farming statistics.

Stargazing Farm
Star Gazing Farm provides sanctuary to unwanted, stray, and abused farm animals, and provides networking mechanisms throughout the area for animal out-placement in loving homes. They run an active youth community work and learning program and also offer animal care services to the community such as bunny sitting and sheep, alpaca, goat, and llama shearing.

Sugarland Ethnohistory Project
The Sugarland Ethnohistory Project seeks to preserve the Black, African-American Historical Resources in Sugarland Community, Montgomery County, Poolesville, Maryland.  The site is for anyone and everyone interested in learning about the Black/African-American history of Sugarland Community and their transition from slavery to freedom.

Sugarloaf Citizens Association
The Sugarloaf Citizens Association is a non for profit organization of community volunteers who work to tirelessly to promote understanding of public policies affecting northern Montgomery County.

West Montgomery Citizens Association
The West Montgomery County Citizens Association strives to maintain quality of life by monitoring growth and by placing the highest priority on green space. WMCCA aims to protect the environment; perpetuate animal and bird habitats; encourage low density, controlled growth and confined commercial areas.
